We are families and individuals that are united in one purpose, glory God on earth before all men. At Cibolo Creek Bible Church, we are simply real people who love God and love each other. We are not perfect, and we don’t try to pretend that we are. Founded in 2010, as Community Bible Church Schertz-Cibolo, Cibolo Creek Bible Church is a fellowship of believers under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Our supreme desire is to know Christ and to be conformed into His image by the power of the Holy Spirit.
We are not a denominational church, nor are we opposed to denominations as such, only their over-emphasis of the doctrinal differences that have led to the division of the Body of Christ.
We believe that the only true basis of Christian fellowship is His (Agape) love, which is greater than any differences we possess and without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians.
We believe worship of God should be intelligent. Therefore, our services are designed with great emphasis upon teaching the Word of God that He might instruct us how He should be worshiped.
We believe worship of God is fruitful. Therefore, we look for His love in our lives as the supreme manifestation that we have truly been worshiping Him.
My name is Nathan Peacock. I started my journey as a Christian after becoming a follower of Christ back in 1977. Before becoming a follower of Christ, I lived as most people do, doing what seemed to be right in my own eyes, but missing the mark in so many ways. Now, with the guidance of God’s Holy Spirit, my focus has shifted dramatically from everything being about me to a life of service to my Lord.
Am I perfect? Far from it, but when I fail, God picks me up, dusts me off, and puts me back in the game. I am now dedicated to serving God and others with the life I now have, everything else pales in comparison.
I married my high school sweetheart, Cheryl, in 1977 and have been for forty-two years. We have three children and six grandchildren. I began teaching an adult couples Bible class at my local church in 1986. I should say, God began using me as a teacher, He did the teaching, I stood at the podium and moved my mouth. I continued to teach for eighteen years. Then, I moved my family to another church and taught adult couples for ten more years before coming to Cibolo Creek Bible Church in 2013. I continue to lead a Life Group, (in-home Bible study) and became the Teaching Pastor in November 2020.
I served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1974 in the 3/32 Armor Division. After the Army, I worked a million odd jobs, went to college, and finally settled into a thirty-five-year career from 1979-2015 in the San Antonio Fire Department. Working as a Firefighter/Paramedic and advancing my career allowed me to retire from full-time civil service in 2014. A new chapter of my life is unfolding and I am really excited about serving our Lord and others.
I grew up in the state of Maine. My parents divorced when I was young and my brother and I were raised by our mother. I received my BS and MS degrees during my twenties. I met my wife Debi on a blind date and we have been together since 1969 years. We have three grown children and one grandchild. We moved to Schertz in January 1990 when I was assigned to Randolph AFB. I spent 36 years working for the Air Force and retired on September 1, 2006.
I spent many years of my life searching for whatever was supposed to fill the emptiness I always felt regardless of what I was doing. Debi and I attended church quite regularly after our children were born. However, my empty feeling continued to plague me. It was in 1993 that I became a follower of Christ and the emptiness became filled with the Holy Spirit.
I first came to CCBC in September of 2010. I oversee the church's business/financial/logistical functions as they occur throughout each year. I look forward to where the Lord leads CCBC as we grow in faith together.
In 2002, while attending seminary, I founded and pastored Christian Faith Bible Church in the Converse Texas area for more than 17 years. I announced that God called me into the ministry in 1988.
I received my Minister’s license from my Pastor in 1990, then ordained as an Elder in the Church of God in Christ by the late Bishop T. D. Iglehart in 1995. I obtained a Master (MA) and Doctor of Ministry (D. Min.) degree from Louisiana Baptist University in 2004, and my first D. Min. from Tyndale Theological Seminary in 2002.
In 2008, after receiving a Master’s in Education from Texas Tech University, I accepted a position as a tenure track Assistant Professor in the Clinical Laboratory Science program at Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas. Following tenure in 2014 and promotion to Associate Professor, he completed a Ph.D. in Adult Education in 2015.
I have been married since 1979 to Mrs. Sandra Redwine, who has her BS degree in psychology from Texas State University. Together we have raised six children and now have eight grandchildren.
We joined Cibolo Creek Bible Church in 2019, after due diligence in searching for a new church home when attrition forced the closure of Christian Faith Bible Church. What a blessing for us to find like-minded bible believers. We purpose to grow with this beautiful blend of ethnic diversity drawn together by our love for Christ and one another as members of His family. We welcome you to experience the same.
